CEVA Logistics Wins Contract With The Body Shop International PLC
on February 3rd, 2009 at 10:02 amCEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has been awarded a contract to manage the UK inbound logistics activities for The Body Shop, part of the L’Oreal group. The contract commenced in January 2009.
On behalf of The Body Shop, CEVA will manage supplier collections from a set number of locations nationwide, transporting products to The Body Shop’s global distribution centre at Littlehampton. CEVA will also distribute palletised products to and from a number of gift assemblers. The products will be transported in full loads and via CEVA’s multi-user network, coordinated from CEVA’s Iver depot.
Mike Ricketts, Head of Global Transportation at The Body Shop says: “By working in partnership with CEVA we are able to reduce costs and deliver greater supply chain efficiencies. CEVA also has the expertise, scope and global coverage to help us manage any fluctuations we may encounter with our logistics activity.”
Nick Cullen, Managing Director, CEVA Logistics UK & Ireland commented: “We are delighted that The Body Shop has taken a decision to expand its relationship with CEVA. We already provide consolidation services, brokerage activities, warehousing and sea and air freight management services to the group and we look forward to managing their inbound supply chain.”
