Mobile Phone priced at only Rs.500 launched for Indian Farmers

However, the price of the handsets makes it difficult and the common man has to think a thousand times before buying it.Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes has announced to introduce cheap phones with digital technologies for farmers. He also mentioned that the state as well as privately owned communication companies need to come forward to make available phones that would cost around Rs.500.
This mobile connectivity and internet accessibility will surely help farmers to improve their farm production and dictate a fair price of its product to end consumers. They would also be able to avail of the latest trends for sowing seeds, harvesting crops, ensuring how to pour fertilizers and in what quantities.
In terms of the political aspect, this scheme would certainly help to enhance India’s farm production being substantially hiked and export figures rising significantly.
The Minister also commented that the UPA government was giving top priority to promote digital science to cut the cost and even provide cheaper entertainment. Moreover, the ministry of Communication, Information & Broadcasting and other relevant government departments had joined hands to make the mobile accessibility available to every farmer so that the telecom revolution becomes comprehensive for all.
