McDonald’s (MCD) did so well with its dollar menu that Wal-Mart (WMT) decided it will create one, too. The difference is that the Wal-Mart version will be merchandise and not food….

Charging for plastic bags at shops pays off.

Customers have been carrying cloth bags to stores in order to avoid paying for the carry bags available; this has led to a 54 per cent dip in their sale.

Shops lose 88% of customers due to poor service

Clothing retailers scored only 2.69 per cent, supermarkets polled 6.10 per cent, local convenience stores received 6.48 per cent backing from consumers, while department stores got the highest score of any retail business type with 9.72 per cent left satisfied.
